British Airways has announced that it will fly to Nice three times a day from London Gatwick. This is in addition to the seven daily flights from Heathrow and once a day service from London City airport. The airline recently invested in a new high-tech check-in area in London Gatwick’s North Terminal, which officially opened in October 2011. The new area boasts self-help technology with a new bag tagging system. This makes the journey time from check-in to airside much shorter which helps ease congestion, especially at peak times.
The extra BA flights come after Easyjet, Jetairfly, Aer Lingus and Ryanair all announced new upcoming flights to the main airport in the south of France. This can only be good news for travellers to the Cannes Film Festival, MIPIM an MIPCOM/MIPTV events.
