The 23rd AMRAE 2015 meeting will take place from 4 to 6 February 2015, at the Palais des Festivals et des Congrès, La Croisette, Cannes. More than 2,000 participants are expected, like last year. Interestingly, the event is receiving the support of 61 partners, which is actually 21 up on last year. There is a feeling that industry as a whole is far more aware of the importance of risk management, given the events in financial markets but also litigation and even cyber-crime.
Risk management: 3 days of conferences
For three days, the “Rencontres AMRAE” will combine plenary sessions with headline speakers and 40 workshops conferences. These act as idea labs for reflection, exchanges and debating good Risk Management practices.
The program is developed, reflected and implemented by a Scientific Committee of the AMRAE, which acts as a research group focused on the concerns of Risk Managers. According to the association, the average number of participants is about 70 per workshop. But a dozen exceeds 120 registrants, in digital, workshops on Cybercrime, on Big Data at the service of risk management and digital fraud.
One talk will centre on the myths and realities of terrorist threats in the wake of Charlie Hebdo.
AMRAE: helping risk officers
The AMRAE – Association pour le Management des Risques et des Assurances de l’Entreprise – was created in 1993 when two associations that had been formed twenty years earlier decided to merge: the ACADEF – Association des Professionnels de la Gestion des Risques et des Assurances, and the GACI – Groupement des Assurés du Commerce et de l’Industrie.
Since 1993, the AMRAE has been organising the “Amrae Rencontres”, an annual three-day conference where risk managers, insurers, reinsurers, brokers, loss adjusters…assemble, bringing together more than 2200 participants in all. These contacts combine convivial hospitality – highly appreciated by all – and a high-quality scientific programme.
The full programme can be found at the AMRAE website.
