Les Plages Electroniques 2015
Since 2006, the beach beside the Palais des Festivals in Cannes has been home to one of the best electronic music festivals in the south of Frances. Les Plages Electroniques (Electronic Beaches) is a fun, colourful and cheap event that brings in certified party DJs over two weekends in July and August.
The festival – the only beach music festival in France – stands out by the variety of styles and quality of DJs. Due to its inner-city location, it closes just after midnight. Those that want to continue to party can still head to some of the clubs that can be found in Cannes.
2015: LOCO DICE – TALE OF US – THE AVENER – THE MARTINEZ BROTHERS – GUESTS
For its 10th anniversary the Cannes event will be split in two. On July 17, the “toes in the sand” party will take place on the beach. DJs include the Deep House maestros from New York, The Martinez Brothers, Switzerland’s Adriatique and local hero Anthony Georges Patrice.
The weekend of August 8 and 9 “between the sky and sea” will feature an extra stage on the terrace of the Palais and a Plage Electro village in town. DJs include The Avener (Fade Out Lines), Germany’s Loco Dice, France’s Joris Delacroix, Italian duos Tale of US and Mind Against, plus El Row and Claptone.
Price range from €16.10-21.10, with a three day pass for €41.10. The event is easy to reach by public transport, and there are late buses to Mandelieu and other locations. But remember, trains do not run through the night.
