Outside of the Cannes Film festival and International festival of Pan-African Films, Cannes is not really a very big movie town. Nonetheless, one body regularly organises top-quality movie events for cinephiles throughout the year.
Between February 3 and 10 2020, Cannes Cinema is running an interesting selection of Italian movies old and new in a number of venues in Cannes. Most of the shows are matinee screenings in la Licorne, Le Raimu, the Miramar and Aracades.
Ten movies will be shown in all, with debates on seventies gangster movies and three avant-premières (“Pinocchio” by Matteo Garrone of Gomorra and Reality fame), “Sole” and “Citoyens du monde”.
