Cannes 2024: and the winner is…

An overview of the Cannes film festival 2024

And it’s a wrap! Cannes 2024 turned out to be a solid if uneventful edition. With the return of Francis Ford Coppola and Demi Moore (not at the same time), a film about Donald Trump, Jacques Audiard directing a Spanish musical and powerful Iranian movies, there was a lot to sort through on the cinephile front.

The talent was largely well behaved this year (whatever happened to Lars Von Trier?). The bombshell announcements about “me too” incidents in the French industry didn’t dominate headlines. The 4,000 journalists that turned up had to content themselves with the red carpet gowns – which is practically an event of its own.

But at the end of the day, the votes were counted and so here is the complete list of winners at the Cannes Film Festival 2024.
