US fashion brand Calvin Klein will present its Fall 2014 collection for men and women at the upcoming TFWA World Exhibition in Cannes this October. Their so-called “celebration of the unisex and intelligent” plays on gender roles. The collection reimagines American streetwear in a combination of fabrics, layered to give new off-kilter proportions.
For women, Calvin Klein has introduced a colour palette of pale stone greys, powdery creams and blush contrasted with navy and faded blacks. Skins from pony to stretch nappa in black lend a darker, textural edge to the soft and tactile silk alpacas and wools.
Mens designs
For men, designs are stripped back and utilitarian – whether they are looking to seem dressed up or dressed down. Raw denim-on-denim styles feature concealed details such as ergonomic seaming. Dark, raw selvage is worn tonally with the new zip-up jacket over a denim shirt and cuffed, tapered jeans. Military-style, double pocket denim shirts and jackets have been re-worked with minimal seaming and stitching.
The men’s tailored jacket has been deemed “the ultimate piece” to pair with the new, slouchy, wide leg jean for fall. Finally, the women’s line presents a range of underwear in microfiber and lace in hues of grey fox, mink and black.
Although there will undoubtedly be great interest from the trendy locals, TFWA is a trade fair with restricted access. Calvin Klein will be at stand number: Bay Terrace 8.
