With 13 million pleasure boaters in France and an annual increase of around 12,000 new pleasure boat registrations, the landscape for professionals is vibrant and evolving. France boasts over 1,000 harbors and marinas, encompassing 8,500 km of navigable waterways, making it Europe’s leading pleasure boat builder and the world’s second largest.

From biofuels to gyroscopes

Innovations that will be showcased range from biofuels derived from Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil (HVO) to cutting-edge technologies, such as gyroscopes, to combat the recurrent problem of seasickness, AI systems designed for sea presence detection, and remote-controlled mooring assistance tools. The wealth of products and services on display reflects a thriving sector poised to meet the needs of the modern yachtsman.

Sylvie Ernoult, Director of the Cannes Yachting Festival, which has been held every year since 1977, emphasizes the importance of collaboration within the industry: “Alongside the 700 boats on show, we are thrilled to welcome numerous equipment manufacturers and marine service providers. Together with shipyards, they are at the forefront of developing technologies and solutions that enhance the sailing experience while promoting sustainability. Many of these innovations will have their world premiere at Cannes, marking a significant milestone in the nautical ecosystem.”
