Drumming up financing in Cannes

If you’re planning on attending the Cannes Film Festival in 2018, sit up! The festival just announced that it is moving everything one day forward. So it will be held between Tuesday May 8 – Saturday May 19, 2018. Many people are already making their plans, so to make sure you get good prices on accommodation and flights, check your plans now.

This is particularly important if you are coming as a group, as finding apartments can be a headache. It is always possible to find last-minute accommodation, but it will end up being either way out of town or very expensive.

Finishing on a Saturday night is most likely a bid to make the closing ceremony more attractive to TV broadcasters.

If you have yet to attend the Festival (and its all-important Film Market/Marché du Film), I wrote a short guide to getting results from your first Cannes trip. One of the most valuable tips is to start planning early!
