Reed MIDEM announces new president

After 19 years steering the company through sometimes difficult times, Paul Zilk has announced that he is stepping down as President of Reed MIDEM. The company organizes major international B2B events in the real estate and entertainment sectors (notably MIPIM, MIPCOM and Midem in Cannes). Michel Filzi, President of the sister company Reed Expositions France (REF), will succeed Paul Zilk from 1 October 2020.

Paul Zilk joined Reed MIDEM in 2001 and has been its president for more than 17 years. In that time, Reed MIDEM expanded its activities in the real estate, television, music, and e-sports sectors. Over the next 12 months, Zilk will work as an advisor to Dominic Feltham, EMEA President of Reed Exhibitions.

Michel Filzi joined Reed Expositions France 22 years ago and has been its President for 6 years. Reed Expositions France organizes more than 30 events in 15 different sectors, such as construction, hotels, transport, environment and art. Filzi will remain President of Reed Expositions France under the direction of Dominic Feltham. He said, “Paul has enabled the development of strong brands serving customers around the world in ever-changing sectors and contexts. Michel Filzi is an experienced leader and I am confident that he will continue this work successfully as the new President.”

About Michel Filzi: After a career at Andersen Consulting and then at the Paris Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Michel Filzi joined Miller Freeman in 1998, becoming Reed Expositions France following its acquisition by Reed Exhibitions in 2000. He was appointed President of Reed Expositions France in January 2014. He is a graduate of Centrale Paris and holds an MBA from INSEAD.
